Re: Richard Gere and the Gerbil

Hi. Just read your report about Richard Gere. Hate to say it, but according to my sources — specifically residents on staff in the ER the evening in question — the rumor you heard is true.

The legal team of the hospital was called for advice on the matter directly after Mister Gere was admitted and it was quickly determined that if any evidence of the incident was left intact it would mean potential legal issues were it ever to see the light of day. The entire paper trail was collected, the staff who worked that evening were called in and it was strongly recommended they sign non disclosure agreements. Not everyone signed, but were informed they would be swiftly brought to silence by the hospital and Mister Gere's representation, thus the rumors that keep surfacing but can't be substantiated. So, after a closed door meeting between key hospital administration, their legal counsel and Mister Gere's team, the entire contents of the medical file (x-rays, doctors notes, admittance forms) were shredded and handed over to Richard Gere's legal representation (provided by his publicists and agent). Of course there is more to the story, and it was years ago I was told the details — but that's the short synopsis.

Wish I could give you names to look into it further, but when I was told the story I gave my word I wouldn't reveal their identities.
