How I did it
Balancing on SMALL end is what all are missing. Simply balance egg on small end. Easier on small bar napkin & must be on very solid, steady surface (such as a typical bar.) Done it a lot on kitchen counter tops, too. Give egg time to warm up to room temp. & time for yolk to settle, into small end, after that - Make it look hard for about a minute. Oh, must be raw egg.
When I did it
Works equally well both equinoxes (very easy,) and, with a little more patience, about 3 days either side. Almost impossable more than 5 days eiither side of an equinox.
Maybe, if you tried 100 or so different eggs, you might find a perfectly balanced one. Any egg will do @ equinox. I share my secret as an old man, with hopes that my sons or grandsons won't get into serious trouble with a "sucker."
Lessons Learned
- Best bar bet I ever used & i've done it many times. Stay sober on day (night) of equinox. Work "skill" into BS @ bar. Bar tender will usually get egg from kitchen when you get a few people stirred up. Go ahead & balance egg, then break it into glass to "prove" it to be normal raw egg. Point is to keep anyone else from trying it, right then. Bet is to give all takers one week to "practice" before they duplicate trick, same time & place in 7 days.. * Those that try it at home in next couple of days will likely duplicate "trick" & are suckers for "double or nothing," etc. in a week.
