- I'm a Canadian, but have a son and his family living in the U.S.A. They love it there too, and correctly point out that there is no difference between us...other than some American's fetish for guns! (Our homicide rates are 1/10 of yours). Canada is a very free country. We pay higher taxes for the security of medicare for everyone. Nobody in Canada has ever become bankrupt or lost a home due to medical bills. True comparisons do not show America as having "The best health care in the world!" Ours is much saner. O'bama is not a socialist, he's a realist. As a history teacher, I watch all news stations; Fox, MSNBC, ABC, TSN etc. , and of course our own Cndn. broadcasters. Anyone that trusts Fox News is manipulated and misinformed. - Bob and Ted, It's clear this man gets his info from cable TV and Talk radio, who reads a scholarly study anymore or studies history? He's rich so he must be smart? He is smart..but ignorant. - Who gives a crap about race? Will people please forget it?! Yes the Bush Administration took capitalism to the limit, but I'd rather have it back than this. Due to Obama's "Health Care" bill I'll never be able to afford to sell my house, I can barely KEEP my house, my 401K will piss itself away, and my child's education fund will dwindle to nothing. This is the 1st time I've even had a retirement (age 35!!) The market crash was caused by a bill signed by Clinton - blame him. It allowed the greasy politicians to invest in investing and get rich off nothing. Obama’s plans are making the top richer and the rest of us poor. It’s the exact same thing that happened to USSR & look where it got them.

Some comments scare me
- What crazy comments. Bush made policy in secret? What has Obama done? Did you know he passed a bill to let Palestinians come into our country with a stipend? That he imposed a 3.8% sales tax on the gross revenue of all home sales, imposed a 10% tax on tanning, and is imposing other smaller taxes? They are forcing cities and counties to spend millions on storm drain and levies -or they condemn the levies thereby forcing flood insurance on homeowners, he's pushing cap and trade to get the carbon credit deals going thereby forcing higher cost on business and consumers, forcing all homes to be weatherized by EPA standards and if not disallow the sale of your home until it meets those standards - thousands of dollars to homeowners for these upgrades. Forcing restaurants to label what is in our food we purchase from them. So to me these are actions to bankrupt our states and control us. They will say it is for the environment! Did you hear about any of this? Let's vote for change again.

- my family is a melting pot. we have african ,mexican, indian, japs, white,etc. we are not racist to obama we just dont like his decisions . ya im not even old enough to vote but i now what is wrong and what is right. not all peole who are'nt for obama is racist!!! and if obama was white or a chick and still made the same decisions people still would'nt like him . i mean seriously now we watch as the twin towers fall killing numerous amounts of Americans and he wants to build a freakin mosque on GROUND ZERO!!!! ya im so glad todays adults were ''thinking'' when they voted. register that !

- As a Republican, daughter and grand daughter of Republicans, I can only say it is a shame we are not the America we need to be. Unite with our President, even if we disagree. The world thinks we are a joke, and not a good or funny one. America once was great, we need to come home and rebuild our ideals to fit our principles, instead, we act like a group of preschool idiots calling names and making up scary stories. Sad. What really is upsetting about the military is how many returning vets are not getting help, read Smithsonian this month. Help the vets rather than make up stories that are bad enough as they really exist.

- After the unregulated billionares in this country destroyed the middle and lower classes, you and your ilk (are you a billionaire, lou?) are chafing because someone has the audacity to stand up to you on our behalf. The inventors of capitalism warned that the greatest threat to the system is unrestrained greed, which brought our country to the brink of depression again. I believe in capitalism, but I want MY vote to have the effect of deciding what kind of country this will be, not the backroom, smoke filled, cash distributing unconscionable, underhanded, powerhungry soulless billionaires and corporations who only care for their bottom line. The last "conservative" administration burned books, re-wrote science, made public policy in secret, cut taxes while starting two wars and brought us closer to fascism than any previous regime. Scared, you bet
- I'm single, over 50 and can't find a job. I saw my middleclass lifestyle crumble under Bush. Bush policies are responsible for ruining many lives. Its time to go in a different direction. All this Obama chatter is only a distraction from getting something done. I really don't care who fixes this mess. Just fix it. I need to get back to work. Life is passing me by and its politics as usual.

- As a senior citizen I worry about reductions in Medicare, tax increases, government control of my life. Having lived in France, where this happens, I do not like what I see happening here.

The Road to Socialism
- I didn't vote for him, but was willing to give him a chance after he was elected. I am a veteran and can't believe the sacrifices the men and women in uniform are making while this man destroys our country from within. Gone in 2012 if it is not too late.
