Are You Afraid of Obama?

No, I am not afraid of Obama. He is only the visual head of the festering mess our government has become over the last 50 years or so. Everybody is looking for someone or group to blame. There is still the old illustration of: when you point a finger at someone there are three pointing back at the real problem. We American voters are actually to blame for the mess we are now in. We are paying for everytime we didn't take the trouble to vote. We are paying for every time we did not go to the slight effort of writing a letter or making a phone call to our representatives to let them know how we wanted them to vote on legislation. We didn't attend meetings that our representatives held, when they came back to their districts to talk to and listen to what we were concerned about. We didn't bother to make ourselves heard in the many ways we had open to us. Is it too late? Who knows, but we had better make an effort, BIG TIME, if we want things to truly change.

So many American Sheeple

All you losers criticizing Pritchett and supporting the Marxist Fraud Osama have no brains, no knowledge of history, and certainly no intellect. Mr. Pritchett is a producer. Your messiah Obama has never produced anything. He's a total marxist fraud, a creation of a leftist media. Look at what's going on around you idiots! The Government now owns GM & Chrysler! They are the largest shareholders of the biggest banks in the world! BO's energy plan - cap and trade, is nothing short of a new tax upon America! BO wants the government, who can't successfully maintain Social security and medicare, to run everyone's healthcare! He's giving the FED more power, and expanding the government's ability to take over private companies! This is socialism idiots! Stop blaming Bush already and look at what has happened in the last 5 months! Neverending expansion of government, to the point where even PRAVDA sees what our republic has been diminished to. Open your damn eyes morons!

Are You Afraid of Barak Obama

Not as a person but of his politics. He seems to be doing whatever he wants and what I would like to know is who is performing the checks and balances to ensure this administration is not circumventing the Constitution. We need public assurance or concerns if he is abandoning the Constitution or legislating with it's framework. I have a tendency to believe the first as it seems Obama is not thinking of what the American people want but he wants to appoint himself as some sort of narcisstic "God" that everyone will bow to and obey. Someone needs to remind him he works for the American people not himself and most don't want this huge government, huge spending, universal healthcare, bailouts, etc. Obama and admin. is not the Gestapo. They need to slow down and listen to the people.

Also scared

I am scared because I know how life in a socialist/communist country will be. But I also have faith in a God who controls all!

Turnabout

All the things Pritchett is scared of are the very thing most thinking Americans support. We have let the fat cats with their money power run the country for far too long
—Guest the cap

no way

Barack Obama is the best chance we have to bring peace and order to this country. I have read his books, and I believe he will lead us in good conscience.

I'm more afraid of Lou Prittchett

Another mindless rant by a mindless, right wing-nut. Lots of people haven't run companies or serverved in the military, or spent some of their formative years overseas(military brats for example). What makes Prittchett's ideas any better than anyone else's ? Since when has the right been a staunch defender of the 1st Amendment? Isn't the 2nd, more their cup of tea?

Whine complain Bloviate!

The unbelievable crap that is being spewed here reminds me of the advice I received from right wingers when I protested GWB's illegal war and utter incompetence - you are all free to leave the US any time you want.

Bipolar country

I find it sad to read the posts here. Pritcharts article was an emotional button pushing letter designed to generate fear. Oh don't label me an Obama supporter though. I have watched him break promise after promise in the first months of his term. Bush started to bury this country in debt and increased government, Obama continues the trend x5. Don't see this in black and white terms. For or against, Bush vs Obama. See it as we need major reform in how our government operates. Lets stop fighting the small fights and get a balanced buget, term limits, line item veto (or no bills that have line items/pork in them) You don't see any of the major players Rep or Dem pushing for those Look at who contributed big to Obama's campaign.. The same people contributed to McCain's. Look who got cabinet posts in Obama's administration or got appointed ambassador. Look what companies got the no bid contracts under Bush.. It's all the same thing at the end of the day Dem and Rep.

Tax payer in support of Lou Pritchett

I likewise am scared of our future under the Obama adinistration. How long will it take for the supporters of his election to come to realize what the future holds for their children and grandchildren. The whole world will soon look down on us and will be given our country. Ken

Obama

No one seems to be able to answer the questions Mr. Pritchett has asked. How did he go to the Ivy League school when he has stated that his grandparents raised him and that they had very little? Where did he get his money to afford the lifestyle he gained in Illinois? He did not have a full time salaried position that would pay that amount of money, according to his own statements as to what he did in Chicago. He is intent on being totally "in charge" and is trying to do things so quickly that he can sneak things past the American public because his desires and goals get done so fast that no one is paying attention to what he is doing. Smart game he plays, but not everyone is so naive to believe everything he says. Wake up people or you will loose all of the rights our ancestors fought to give us. We do not need government-runned car companies, goverment-controlled banks, or government-controlled anything!! WE are what makes this country great....not the government!

Walk the small walk - talk the big talk

Mr. Pritchett a corporate VP never run a big company. I have lived thru 13 presidents, voted for George W twice and look to Obama with hope for redemption for myself and my nation after 8 yrs of death, destruction and humiliation. I dont care who paid for Obamas education ( mainly academic scholarships ) nor do I care about George W,s college drunkeness a nd drug use ( no scholarships there or anywhere). I do care that you ( without military experience) care to preserve American lives rather than willfully destroy and maim them (even with profound military reserve experience) I congratulate Mr Obama for correctly blaming others ( Mr Bush and his handlers) - untli Jan 20 the buck (which he tries to duck) stopped with him - and he put the golden goose on failing life support. A slaughtered youth, destroyed economy, a debased curreny, world hatred and distrust, and the socialist path of govt takeovers - the Bush legacy. I turn with hope for Mr Obama to help us rise from the Bush ashes.

Afraid Of Obama? Wise--if you're NeoCon

The only people who need fear Mr. Obama are the Neo-Cons and Republican fellow travelers who got us into this mess! The Conservative agenda came home to roost in the last election--and it may never recover (nor will the Republican party unless it wises up!). The only people who need to fear our President are the nut cases on the far right who are still defending the shredding of our Constitution, distruction of our standing in the world, and their "everyman for himself and the devil take the hindmost" perversion of the phrase "person responsibility". A word to Mr. Pritchett: Your open letter implies that you know little or nothing about the many aspects of Barack Obama's life, beliefs, goals and vision for America. I suggest you read his books and other writings, listen to his speeches and checkout his biography rather than just cowering in a corner with your hands over your ears, terrified by the word "Liberal".
