Mad men and cowards

The only thing I am afraid of is how quickly we forget or re-write history. Before the election my friends, both "liberal" and "conservative" (because if you keep and open mind you CAN have both), were in relative agreement that whoever won the presidency had a mess to dig the country out of. Mr. Pritchett is indeed another fear monger who chooses to ignore the approval ratings and the overall global response to President Obama's election. Approval ratings or a positive global response aside, I think an open-minded person would give him more than 6 months on the job before declaring the job a failure. I also am tired of fear-mongering and divisiveness when in fact, to be a true patriot, you need to hope for your President to be a success, no matter who he or she is. I didn't support Bush with my vote, but I prayed for his success after he was elected because I certainly understood that his failure was the failure of the United States of America; my native country which I truly love.

Love it now

I am tired of hearing all the ridiculous accusations against OUR president. He is ours, because WE THE PEOPLE wanted him over the other, useless, candidates. Get over the rumours about the President's hidden agendas, hidden religion, hidden upbringing, etc. In today's Internet age, there are no secrets about anyone. The money paid to "anonymous" sources from tabloids nowadays makes sure we know everything about everyone. I love that my government is now trying to fix things. Yes, those things cost money, but so did W's tax cuts for his friends. If you cut taxes and put us in an un-ending war, you run deficits. Our President inherited the worst financial situation ever, and has to spend money to make money. We will pull out of this mess, but it will take many many years. But since it took W many years to create it, I would expect it to take years to fix. Give it time and lets see how it goes. Can't be worse than the last 8 years. It scares me that people want to go back to the old way

I'm afraid of you, Mr. Pritchett!

You are spreading the same kind of e mail hate that dogged your company for years! Remember the symbol on P&G packaging that raised such an uproar? You are spreading the same kind of hate! Too bad you couldn't keep your false idol, GW in office so you could keep raking in the dough on the backs of hard working people. You wouldn't know work if it bit you in the a__! You consider Limbaugh and Hannity spokepersons for conservatives? They're dark comedy, and not even that good of comedy! You are pathetic!

Respect

There is no respect for the hard working citizenry of this country. There is an over abundance of arrogance earned only by the press and the opinionated, mindless celebrities who must get their names known.

Oh hells yeah!

How could you not be afraid of this guy?!?! I don't have enough years left to try to dig out of this hole he is putting us in. I will spend the rest of my life screwed.

What scares me...

Are people who persist in cultivating a culture of fear in America. Fear of the different, fear of the unknown, fear of change. Frankly, I'm tired of fear and fear mongers. And no, I'm not afraid of Obama. PS. Lou, what's wrong with trying to capitalize on the U.S.'s vast wind resources??
—Guest Amberglas

"Hey, Jean, get off my cloud"

Sounds like Lou's been smoking some weird weed, the America he writes about hasn't existed for 50 years. It doesn't make the top 25 as far as standard of living and ranks 43 in life expectancy due to the worst health care system in the industrialized world.

A different Point of View

Are yoiu afraid because for once in a long time a President is doing something to help the economic situation? Bush put us there; Obama is trying to get us out of this mess. Give the man a break! You weren't in an uproar when Bush was sitting back on his laurels raking in the loot for his forthcoming exit from the White House.

Huh?

This letter was simply silly on so many levels, I'm not sure where to start. I will note, however, that one of those terrific capitalist companies laid off me and 113 other people (almost all of us the top-paid people in our departments) and then paid a bonus for the same quarter although no savings would be realized for at least another four months. President Obama has answered questions again and again and again. People of this ilk simply refuse to listen. Perhaps they think we would have been better off with a former beauty queen who has managed everything she's touched into hideous debt, took five years to graduate college, champions abstinence while having a live-in unwed mother and has a husband who wanted to secede from the US? Perhaps a guy who other POWs said was kind of a jerk, who had an affair and then dumped his wife when she was disfigured in an auto accident? Whose daughter has publicly broken with him? Whose campaign admits his running mate was a mistake? Not afraid now

Lou scares me!

Lou is much more dangerous than Obama. It is people like him that continue to spread malicious, almost hateful, remarks about our President. Lou Republican friend, George Bush, left this country in a disastrous situation. Huge debt, record homes in foreclosure, millions without jobs and at war for 5 years! Now, a man who is trying to dig out of the hole left by Bush has all of this vitriolic comment thrown his way from this "great corporate citizen", Mr. Pritchett! Mr. Pritchett and his greedy corporate friends helped put this country into the quarmire we now find ourselves in! Get a life Pritchett and quit your holier than thou preaching! Guys like you are what scares me about America! You want to continue spreading hate and distrust. If you are so great, put your name in the hat now and start your campaign for 2012! The world is just waiting for your salvation!

Obama Fear

Fear and ignorance go together. I bet Mr Pritchett voted for W. Bush, the worst president in the history of this great republic. He is entitled to his opininon but his real fear is that the republican party and the right wing is in disarray and increasingly meaningless. When the spokespeople for that opinion is a mix of charlatains and showmen it is no wonder. Keep believing in fables and spread doubt and mistrust when you have no logical alternate agenda. You are out of ideas, so get paranoid. How juvenile.

Who is really at fault?

We, the voting citizens of this wonderful country. If we don't feel we know the person, learn or vote against. Too many of us vote just to say we did, but really didn't know sh** about who their vote was for. Don't forge, "W" got voted in twice. We didn't learn a thing. For your vote to really mean something, first learn who's who.

I would be if

I would be if i didn't believe God is somehow in control and working behind the scenes.
—Guest Charles

me too.

What scares me is that Mr. Pritchett is correct. I love my country, but fear its government.
—Guest Freebird

yes, I am

Yes, I am. I am afraid of Barack Obama and what he has done and will do to the country that I love and call my home. It doesn't feel like home anymore, not safe, not welcoming. I am afraid of how little we know about Barack Obama, how much he was able to keep secret (shades of Oz, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain...") during the campaign, and how fawning the "mainstream media" continues to be over him.
